Global Automakers Names Julia Rege as Director of Environment and Energy
WASHINGTON, Sept. 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Association of Global Automakers (Global Automakers) is pleased to announce that Julia Rege has been promoted to Director, Environment and Energy. Rege is replacing John Cabaniss who retired after 19 years with the Association.
"Julia was a natural choice to carry on the Association's efforts on the energy and climate change front," said John Bozzella, Global Automakers' president and CEO. "She brings with her over a decade of experience and has proven to be a valuable asset to our organization."
Rege joined the Association in 2011 as Senior Manager, Environment and Energy, coming from Hyundai-Kia America Technical Center, Inc. where she served as a senior regulatory engineer. She also worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Transportation and Air Quality as an environmental engineer. One of Rege's responsibilities at the EPA included coordinating with governmental organizations and regional stakeholders during the Agency's federal rulemaking process required under the 2005 Federal Transportation Act.
Julia has a Masters in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Environmental Science from Northwestern University.
