WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Association of Global Automakers (Global Automakers) is pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Haake as director and assistant general counsel. Haake will provide legal advice and guidance to the Association on a broad range of environmental, energy, safety, and other automotive industry matters.

Before joining Global Automakers, Haake was in private practice in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he represented the automobile industry in a wide range of fuel economy, greenhouse gas, and mobile source emissions matters. Among his accomplishments was assisting the industry in rulemaking to establish coordinated standards governing motor vehicle fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions, and defending those regulations in federal court.
Haake began his legal career as an Associate with Gibson Dunn in California. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and holds a B.A. from Washington and Lee University. He is a member of the California and District of Columbia Bars.
