WASHINGTON, June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Association of Global Automakers (Global Automakers) is pleased to announce that it has hired Mark Dowd as Assistant General Counsel. Dowd will provide legal advice and guidance to the Association on a broad range of environmental, energy, safety, and other automotive industry policy matters.

Dowd has extensive experience in transactions, restructuring, litigation, and regulatory matters as they relate to environmental and energy issues. Before joining Global Automakers, Dowd was a senior member of President Obama's Auto Task Force where he worked on the historic restructuring of General Motors and Chrysler. More recently, he served as a senior advisor on both the Hurricane Sandy Task Force in 2013 and the Council on Environmental Quality in 2012.
