GLOBAL Appointment to Support Critical Reconstruction Mission in Afghanistan Confirmed
LONDON, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has confirmed the award of the Reconstruction Security Support Services-Afghanistan (RSSS-A) contract to GLOBAL Integrated Security (GIS), the security and support services division of Global Strategies Group.
Under the new contract, with a capacity of $120 million per year over four years, GIS will provide critical security and logistical support to USACE's mission in Afghanistan as it manages construction and engineering projects to help establish a stable environment and promote infrastructure development.
The GIS team worked hard alongside USACE on the RSSS-A program from 2008, and this new contract is recognition of the outstanding performance GIS teams have delivered over the past four years. Global Strategies Group entered Afghanistan in November 2001. GIS continues the proud tradition of work that the Group has conducted there since, and looks forward to serving USACE as it continues its vital reconstruction mission.
