Gleneagles Country Club Named to Host 2011 British Open Qualifier for the Third Consecutive Year
PLANO, Texas, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Gleneagles Country Club, a member of the ClubCorp family of clubs, has been named for the third consecutive year as the host site of America's International Final Qualifying (IFQ) event for the 2011 British Open. Gleneagles is the only club to be chosen three times to serve as the site of a qualifier. The 36-hole event will be held May 23, 2011, on the club's Queen's Course. The 140th British Open is July 14-17, 2011, at Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent, in England.
The IFQ events were started in 2004 and are held on five continents to give more players from around the world the opportunity to compete in the British Open Championship.
