"Joining together this actively engaged group of business leaders, venture capitalists, investors and government administration officials is another step in improving the thinking around how we can help get America back to work," said Rusty Rueff. "The American workers' psyche has been rattled by the unsteady nature of the economy and for our economy to fully recover we must all do our part to find ways to restore employee and job seeker confidence in the job market."
The White House Business Council and Business Forward are convening this day-long forum at the White House in an effort to solicit input and perspective from American business and civic leaders. Representatives from companies like KPMG, Duke Energy, Marriott and CIT will be in attendance. Senior Administration officials, including Dr. Rebecca Blank, who serves as under secretary for economic affairs at the Department of Commerce, and Valerie Jarrett, who serves as a senior advisor and assistant to the president for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, will provide an overview of current efforts to spur economic growth and Administration priorities, broadly. The agenda will cover a range of topics, among them: innovation and open government; access to capital for small business; health care; energy; education; immigration and children's health and wellness.
As a Glassdoor ambassador, Rueff will help to provide insight and perspective into the issues job seekers, employees and employers are facing as a result of the Great Recession. Prior to serving on Glassdoor's Board, Rusty was CEO of SNOCAP, the world's first end-to-end solution for digital licensing and copyright management services. In addition, he has led global HR functions for Electronic Arts and PepsiCo, and is co-author of "Talent Force: A New Manifesto for the Human Side of Business."
