Give The Gift Of A Great Future To America's Kids
Boys & Girls Club members are giving back this holiday season and so can you!
ATLANTA, Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- During the holidays, Boys & Girls Club members across the country are demonstrating their commitment to service by giving back to their communities. Members of the public can join in, too, by participating in Boys & Girls Clubs of America's (BGCA) annual "Give the Gift of a Great Future" holiday campaign, which provides a host of easy ways to support the organization and its commitment to create great futures for kids.
BGCA is recognizing the many ways Club kids serve their communities, from participating in clean-ups to visiting senior citizens, and dozens of other service activities, through the Kids Give Back Contest, now in its fourth year. The public is invited to vote for their favorite stories at GreatFutures.org from Monday, Nov. 24 to Friday, Dec. 12. The winning Club will receive a generous grant.
"Inspiring the desire to give back to others is a critical ingredient in our mission at Boys & Girls Clubs," said Jim Clark, president and CEO of BGCA. "Instilling the value of community service in young people is fundamental to their positive development. It's inspiring and heartwarming to see kids who have such great needs themselves put others first. We can all learn from their example."
To further encourage the spirit of giving to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America, during the holiday season, every dollar donated to BGCA will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $1 million. The match, made possible thanks to a generous matching gift from entertainment industry moguls Monique and Timothy 'Timbaland' Mosley and their Always Believing Foundation, will run through Dec. 31.
In addition, there are a number of easy ways to support BGCA while enjoying seasonal shopping for friends and family. Partners like Family Dollar, GAP Brands, GoDaddy, JCPenney, Mattel, Bon-Ton, RetailMeNot and UPS are all supporting BGCA this season through cause marketing. For more details and a full list of the incredible partners that support our holiday programs, visit GreatFutures.org/pages/partners.
No matter the season, BGCA encourages everyone to engage in community service and giving. Visit GreatFutures.org to learn more about how to give back throughout the holidays and the rest of the year.
