Gilt Opens Distribution Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada

NEW YORK, June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Gilt Groupe, Inc., an innovative online shopping destination, today announced that it has opened a distribution center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The facility, located in North Las Vegas, will house merchandise from Gilt's West Coast suppliers and improve the company's overall supply chain strategy by allowing Gilt customers to receive their orders faster.

Gilt Groupe, Inc. now has three distribution centers in the United States. It addition to this new site, there is one in Brooklyn, New York, which houses merchandise coming from northeast vendors, and the main fulfillment center is located outside of Louisville, Kentucky.

"Having distribution centers in these key areas of the country allows us to receive merchandise much faster, and therefore the turnaround time for Gilt customers to receive their packages will be reduced," said Christopher Halkyard, Vice President of Operations, Gilt Groupe. The opening of this center will allow for the creation of roughly 75 new jobs in the Las Vegas area over the next year. Gilt Groupe has hired American Cargo Express as its fulfillment company for this center, and once again retained ABCO Automation to handle facility design. American Cargo Express responsibilities include the hiring and management of the warehouse staff.
