Gill Electronics Achieves First-to-Market FCC Certification for the TesLink™ Resonant Charging Transmitter and Receiver Products
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gill Electronics, Inc., a pioneer in resonant wireless power and charging technology, announced today that the company's TesLink™ products have received Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification making these the first wireless charging products based on the A4WP/Rezence™ standard to reach this milestone. Gill products already had been certified to other regulatory requirements for use elsewhere around the world, including Europe and Asia.
Gill Electronics is a market leader in resonant wireless charging products. Gill introduced the first commercially available, and now the first FCC certified, resonant wireless charging applications for mobile devices compliant to the A4WP/Rezence™ standard. Resonant products allow users to wirelessly charge their smart phones, tablets, laptops and other mobile devices without the need for "plugging-in" to a wall or other power outlet.
Other benefits of TesLink™ include:
- Drop and Go Performance – simply set the device down on the charging area.
- Multi-Device Charging – the ability to charge multiple devices simultaneously.
- Flexibility in Placement - unlike first generation wireless charging, which required specific placement of the device on a specific location on the surface, resonant-based devices can be placed anywhere within the charging area.
- Scalable Power - the ability to charge devices with different power requirements and different power states on the same area at the same time (i.e. a wearable device, smart phone, tablet and/or laptop).
Gill is working in partnership with other market leaders to deploy products into the automotive, furniture, consumer electronics, and medical markets.
"Receiving the first FCC approval for resonant wireless charging is a significant achievement for Gill Electronics, and affirms our continued leadership within this exciting wireless power industry," remarked Brad Miller, Chief Technology Officer for Gill Electronics. "We're focused on providing the best user experience and performance for our clients and the receipt of this certification bolsters our commitment to meeting and exceeding the safety and regulatory requirements with all our Rezence-based products here in the US and around the world."
"The Alliance for Wireless Power applauds Gill's first-to-market product milestone," said Kamil Grajski, President of the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP). "The key elements for wireless power volume economies of scale are now in place and include Rezence, the world's only industry-sponsored resonant specification, backed by a world-class certification program, and now a demonstrated path to product regulatory approvals."
