The Blusens Blubrain entertainment center leverages Gigle's GGL541 multimedia home networking IC to manage, play and distribute audio/visual content to multiple devices using Internet protocol (IP) streaming via a home's existing powerlines. Gigle's GGL541 offers the highest performance of any wireline IC, with both a1Gbps anywire channel leveraging the company's Mediaxtream technology and 200Mbps over powerline using industry-standard HomePlug AV technology.
Using Gigle's technology, the Blubrain multimedia center and other home-entertainment devices are automatically integrated into the Blubrain Connected Home network, simply by plugging them into existing powerlines within the home.
"We are proud and excited to integrate our high-speed home networking chipset solution in Blusen's Blubrain device, allowing consumers to enjoy ultra-fast data and multimedia throughput without installing any new wires," said Juan Carlos Riveiro, president and chief executive officer of Gigle Networks. "The Blusens Blubrain sets a new standard for consumer entertainment services in the connected home, not only enabling high-quality video streaming but also offering the opportunity for a reliable, high-speed connection that can be used for remote technical and diagnostic services."
"Blusens' and Gigle's successful, two-year collaboration is now culminating in the volume production of our first product to use Gigle's integrated Mediaxtream/HomePlug AV technology," said Jose Ramón Garcia, chief executive officer of Blusens Global Corporation. "Gigle's technology enables the Blusens Blubrain to deliver simple and transparent, Gigabit-speed data exchange with other network devices, anywhere in the home, without requiring any new wires to be installed. With the Blubrain, consumers have an extremely easy way to share content over an invisible, extremely robust and highly reliable home entertainment network."
Gigle's GGL541 is a fully integrated single-chip solution, with physical-layer (PHY), media access control (MAC) and Smart Mesh home/Quality-of-Service (QoS)/Class-of-Service (CoS) switching capabilities. The cost-optimized device eliminates any external memory or complex support circuitry, and is capable of meeting the active and standby power requirements for adapters of the Energy Using Products Directive (EuP) Lot 6.
Gigle Networks will be demonstrating its GGL541 IC integrated in Blusen's Blubrain device at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel (suite 560) during CES 2010, Jan. 7-10, 2010. Gigle will also be presenting its products and technology at the HomePlug Powerline Alliance TechZone at Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, booth #20301. Blusens will be located at Main Central Hall, booth # 13544.
