Product recalled due to undeclared allergen
LANDOVER, Md., March 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Following notification from its supplier, McCormick & Company, Giant Food has removed from stores McCormick's Golden Dipt Tempura Seafood Batter Mix. The product may contain milk, an undeclared allergen.
The following product is affected by this recall:
- Golden Dipt Tempura Seafood Batter Mix, 8 oz., UPC 4123470132 with a Best By Date of OCT 08 12 H.
To date, Giant Food has received no reports of illness associated with consumption of this product. Customers who have purchased the product should discard any unused portions or bring their purchase receipt to Giant Food for a full refund.
Symptoms of food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic. Allergic reactions can include: hives; flushed skin or rash; tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth; face, tongue, or lip swelling; vomiting and/or diarrhea; abdominal cramps; coughing or wheezing; dizziness and/or lightheadedness; swelling of the throat and vocal cords; difficulty breathing; loss of consciousness.
