NEW YORK, Jan. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Getty Images, the world leader in visual communications, today announces the appointment of Gene Foca as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
Reporting to Getty Images' Chief Executive Officer, Dawn Airey, Foca brings over twenty years' experience as a strategic and data-driven marketing leader, launching and growing some of the world's biggest content and e-commerce businesses.

Foca replaces outgoing Chief Marketing Officer, Susan Smith-Ellis, who after three years with the business stepped down at the end of last year.

Foca most recently served as Fresh Direct's Senior Vice President of Marketing, where he was responsible for the grocer's customer marketing and oversaw marketing plans for the launch of Foodkick into Manhattan. Prior to that, Foca was based in Jersey City as Senior Director of Marketing at Amazon where he operated as the subsidiary Quidsi's chief marketing professional, overseeing the building out of new forecasting and segmentation models and ultimately helping to lead Quidsi to its most profitable year ever. Foca also headed up business development and marketing for the Kindle North American Newsstand at Amazon in Seattle.
Prior to that he was at News Corporation as Senior Vice President of Marketing for News Digital, where he worked on the creation of new content apps and contributed to the launch of The Daily, the first mobile daily news product of its kind. He had previously spent 18 years with Time Incorporated and Time Warner.
