WASHINGTON, April 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As recently reported in the Stateline Business Review, there is some good news on health care: the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA) has helped more than 6.2 million uninsured and financially struggling patients find assistance programs that provide medicines for free or nearly free.

Sponsored by America's pharmaceutical research and biotechnology companies, the PPA provides access to more than 475 public and private patient assistance programs. Nearly 200 of the programs are provided by pharmaceutical companies. Eligible patients have access to more than 2,500 brand-name and generic prescription medicines. In addition, there's information on more than 10,000 free health care clinics in America. In fact, the partnership has connected more than 287,000 patients with free health clinics.
