"Get Back in the Swing" Clinics With Golf Pro Jim Suttie
Complimentary Back Pain Prevention and Return to Play Seminars for golfers
CHICAGO, June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Often referred to as the "best golf teacher In Illinois," renowned PGA instructor Dr. Jim Suttie will share secrets for surviving the game of golf without hurting your back during two free clinics in the Chicagoland this summer. The clinics are sponsored by the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA), Athletico Physical Therapy and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR). These open-to-the-public clinics are scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, June 25, Athletico Golf Performance Center, Oak Brook; and 7 p.m., Thursday, July 9, The Glen Club, Glenview. Refreshments will be served.
The "Get Back in the Swing" events will include a free evaluation of your swing by prominent Athletico golf physical therapist Joe Estes, PT, DPT, CGFI. Estes will discuss prevention exercises and keeping your back in shape all-year round. He believes prevention is key since research shows 80 percent of golfers will experience back pain.
Dr. Frank Phillips and Dr. Kern Singh, co-directors of the MOR Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, will explain common swing-related back and spine ailments and treatment options. Dr. Phillips will discuss his unprecedented study, showing 80 percent of golfers return to their former handicap or better after spinal fusion surgery.
The seminar is for golfers of all abilities, those with chronic or intermittent back issues and those who want to prevent back conditions.
Suttie has taught golfers worldwide for over 42 years. After swinging the wrong way for a long time, he underwent spine surgery. Now, with a PhD in biomechanics, Suttie helps golfers avoid the same mistakes.
