German Manufacturers Increase US Sales to Nearly 1.4 million Light Vehicles

DETROIT, Michigan, January 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

In 2014 the German manufacturers pushed up their sales of light vehicles on the US market to almost 1.4 million units (+2 percent), stressed Matthias Wissmann, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), at the VDA's press conference in Detroit. This was a new sales record for the German OEMs, Wissmann said. The latest figure means sales have risen by more than half (54 percent) since 2010.
