Gerald McClain Family Honored During Heartland Bank's Newark Office Grand Opening Celebration
GAHANNA, Ohio, Nov. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Over 150 people were in attendance at the Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Heartland Bank's new Newark Office located at 44 West Locust Street (corner of 4th and Locust Streets). The event began with a meet and greet at 4:00 p.m., the official ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m., and a celebration with refreshments immediately following. The bank welcomed government, business leaders and the residents of Newark to this historic event.
As part of the celebration, Heartland Bank dedicated the clock that stands outside the new office to the Gerald K. McClain family. "Today is a historic moment for us with our new location, which is a beautiful gateway to Downtown Newark. As we began to plan construction, we wanted to give back to this community and create something that residents and visitors would remember and be proud of. We wanted a monument to enhance the Downtown streetscape," said G. Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO of Heartland Bank, "and dedicating the clock to the McClain family makes it that much more special to the bank and the Newark community."
The plaque on the clock reads, 'In honor of the Gerald K. McClain family for their continuous dedication, vision and service to the city of Newark and for being a catalyst in the redevelopment of the Downtown Business District dedicated this 8th day of November 2012.'
Newark Mayor Jeff Hall thanked Heartland Bank for the beautiful addition to Newark. "Just 9 months ago, on February 14th, with snowflakes coming down we stood here at the groundbreaking of Heartland Bank's new location. We certainly appreciate Heartland's commitment to the city of Newark as we stand here today in this beautiful office. We know this is just the start of good things to come in the downtown area," Mayor Hall commented.
The new location features a two-lane drive-thru and a new ATM to better serve the residents, businesses and the Newark community as a whole. "We take great pride in investing in the communities in which we serve and look forward to expanding our relationships and community involvement in Newark," stated McComb.
The building has Georgian architecture, featuring red brick walls and white columns, which match the style of the bank's headquarters. At over 4,500 square feet, the new office is almost double the size of Heartland's former location in Newark of 18 years at 6 N. Park Place on the Courthouse Square.
