Georgia's Camden County Schools Switch to Trend Micro Enterprise Security
With 10,000 students on 13 different campuses, Camden County Schools needed a tightly integrated multilayered security solution to maximize protection while reducing impact on users.
CUPERTINO, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Trend Micro Inc. announced today that Camden County School District, in Camden County, Georgia, switched to Trend Micro™ Enterprise Security powered by the Trend Micro™ Smart Protection Network™ infrastructure to maximize protection while minimizing complexity.
Camden County Schools has limited IT staff and resources that supports almost 10,000 students, 1,500 employees and 13 campuses. With tight IT resources and with the exponentially increasing spam, viruses and Trojans the school district's previous vendor's solutions were not able to keep up with the volume of spam and spyware that were bogging down the network.
Camden County Schools IT staff carried out a request for bids, and their product investigations and comparisons showed that Trend Micro could best meet the needs of the county schools. They switched to Trend Micro Enterprise Security solutions to maximize protection, improve spyware detection and spam filtering. Camden County Schools was able to minimize complexity with Trend Micro's in-the-cloud email sender reputation checking and VMware ready virtual appliance deployment that minimized the security footprint. Switching to Trend Micro Enterprise Security also eliminated many user complaints about security software consuming too much processor power on desktops and laptops.
"Keeping up to date with security is always a challenge," said Jeff Kelly, director of information systems, Camden County Schools. "I'm constantly reviewing industry sources of information, and we see that Trend Micro is doing a good job at keeping up with the threats. They also coexist very well with all of our legacy education software and help us protect all of our computers including the older hardware. This is important since we have to keep hardware longer with today's budget restrictions."
Camden County Schools now deploys the following Trend Micro Enterprise Security solutions: Trend Micro Enterprise Security for Endpoints, including OfficeScan Client/Server for endpoint protection for all desktop, laptops, and file servers; Trend Micro ScanMail for Exchange for email server security; and Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance for email gateway filtering.
Trend Micro Enterprise Security is a tightly integrated offering of content security products, services and solutions powered by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network. Together they deliver maximum protection from emerging threats while minimizing the cost and complexity of security management.
The Smart Protection Network combines cloud-based file, Web and email reputation technologies, feedback loops and the expertise of TrendLabs(SM) security researchers to provide the continuous real-time threat detection and protection services.
