Georgia School of Orthodontics Awards Complimentary Orthodontic Care to Three Deserving Children in Gwinnett
Winners announced at the Georgia School of Orthodontics' ground breaking event
ATLANTA, April 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Georgia School of Orthodontics (GSO) announced Wednesday the three recipients of complimentary orthodontic care at GSO's ground breaking event for their second campus located in Duluth.
"We chose three children who truly inspired us and whose stories touched our hearts. We want to help boost their confidence by giving them the smile they have always dreamed of and deserve," said Dr. Ricky E. Harrell, Program Director at GSO. During the event, Harrell also asked them to take a pledge to brush and floss daily, which they recited through laughs.
The gift of orthodontic services is GSO's continued commitment of providing $100,000 of orthodontic care to deserving Georgians.
The recipients and their nomination stories are below:
- Sierra Henson from Dacula is a bright 14 year old girl and role model to her four siblings. She is an excellent student who makes all A's in her AP and gifted classes. Expensive medical costs for a family member made the hope of orthodontic care seem unachievable. GSO is helping to give the gift of a perfect smile to this deserving young girl.
- Savien Cox from Lawrenceville is a caring fifth grader who loves to smile and bring joy to others. He battles with insecurities and low self-esteem over his smile, and is grateful that GSO is giving him the opportunity to have the smile he always dreamed was possible.
- Damian Soler from Gwinnett (currently resides in Decatur) is a deserving 13 year old boy who suffers from insecurity about his smile. His teeth prevent him from being able to close his mouth while he sleeps, so he suffers from constant sore throats. He is excited to receive his braces, and looks forward to many nights of peaceful sleep.
GSO will provide the recipients any necessary orthodontic care including appliances, braces, retainers and more at no cost. GSO will also provide the children who were nominated but not selected with a significant reduction in the cost of their orthodontic treatment.
The Georgia School of Orthodontics is now accepting patients at their Gwinnett and North Atlanta offices. All patients will have access to GSO's state-of-the art technology, like the CS 3600 intraoral scanner, which eliminates goopy impressions and awkward intraoral photos and features greater accuracy and speed for the orthodontic residents. GSO is the first orthodontic school in the nation with this technology.
Patients will receive high quality care at an affordable price. The residents are licensed dentists seeking specialty training in orthodontics and are overseen by the Board Certified Program Director and faculty. The Georgia School of Orthodontics' presence in Georgia will address a critical need for orthodontists and affordable care in the region.
