ATLANTA, June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With Atlanta ranked as one of the top five markets for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles nationwide, Georgia Power is joining with other energy companies, as well as the Georgia Public Service Commission, to support the annual Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Roadshow. The roadshow, now in its fourth year, will host eight local events in cities around the state beginning Tuesday, June 17 in Atlanta.
The roadshow events offer visitors, including fleet managers, city and community leaders and elected officials, the opportunity to interact with a variety of vehicles during an outdoor alternative fuel vehicle expo at each event. Additionally, classroom‐style seminars feature short presentations from clean fuels experts and vehicle manufacturers. Ben Echols, electric transportation program manager for Georgia Power, and other Georgia Power employees will travel with the roadshow to meet with attendees and discuss the company's workplace charging program, special rates for electric vehicle charging and electric vehicle education resources including the newly opened Customer Resource Center in Atlanta.
"Individual drivers, as well as companies and government agencies, are increasingly taking advantage of the benefits of all-electric vehicles," said Echols. "This roadshow is a great opportunity for us to continue to build awareness of electric transportation technology, as well as the variety of resources we offer to customers considering electric vehicles."
