Georgia-Pacific Professional Supports Global Handwashing Day With New Video On Hand Hygiene

ATLANTA, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Georgia-Pacific Professional is lending its support for this year's Global Handwashing Day, on Oct. 15, 2013, with the release of a new video―"It Takes 20"― to showcase the actual amount of time needed to properly wash hands.

Initiated in 2008, Global Handwashing Day is a worldwide event aimed at increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent disease.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends washing hands for 20 seconds with soap and water to help reduce the number of germs that cause infection and illness.[i] The new video reinforces the CDC-recommended handwashing technique by encouraging people to allow enough time for appropriate hand washing and drying.
