Moms Oppose Bill That Would Allow Guns in K-12 Schools, Bars and Churches
ATLANTA, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Georgia chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, including spokesperson and mother of Jordan Davis, Lucia McBath, will be present at the Conference Committee hearing on SB 875 to testify in opposition of the bill.
WHO: Piyali Cole, chapter leader of the Georgia chapter, and Lucia McBath, national spokesperson for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America
WHEN: Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 1:00 p.m.
WHERE: Georgia State Capitol (Coverdell Legislative Office Building)
WHY: "This bill is focused on appeasing those who want to carry their guns anywhere at any time, with little regard for the safety of our community. This bill puts our children and families on the front lines of the gun violence epidemic in this country," said Georgia chapter leader Piyali Cole. "As elected officials, these legislators are charged with creating laws that will protect our children and families; not to create laws that protect the profit of the gun lobby."
