The Boston Marathon bombing brought this perennial truism into sharp relief again: Major crowds carry major risk.
As we head into a summer of ball games and street festivals, let's hear from the folks who think through the thousand little details that make events go right, and also think through the thousand awful nightmares of events gone way wrong. As is so often the case, communications is key.
Public confidence, safety, security, reputation, profit, community, staffing and fun all come into play when planning for "the big day."
A three-person panel will discuss "Communications, Crisis and the Crowd":
- Sharon Goldmacher, president, Communications 21, representing the 2013 Men's Final Four
- Nnena Nchege, festival manager, Atlanta Jazz festival
- Jennifer LeMaster, communications director, Georgia World Congress Center Authority
The moderator will be Paul Dusseault, APR, senior vice president, FleishmanHillard Atlanta.
Prior to the luncheon, a seminar with Bonnie Ulman, president, The Haystack Group, and author of "Hustle: Marketing to Women in a Post-Recession World," will begin at 9:30 a.m.
While headlines herald the upward swing of the American economy, women aren't buying it. The catastrophic nature of the economic downfall left women skeptical and guarded – 64 percent of women lost trust in companies and brands they once relied on.
As women adjust to a Post-Recession "New Normal," is your brand or company speaking to her in a supportive way? Are you solving and not just selling? This interactive seminar will help you understand how female consumers are quickly adapting to the post-Recession reality. Is your brand motivating and inspiring her or diverting her to your competitor?
Maggiano's-Buckhead is located at 3368 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30326.
Check-in for the seminar begins at 9:15 a.m. Details and registration link: http://bit.ly/10Zk2ZP. Details and registration link for the luncheon: http://bit.ly/16MCE63.
