Today's equality battle for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in America is one that has captured the attention of media – and society in general – especially recently.
The Human Rights Commission (HRC) – the largest civil rights organization dedicated to achieving equality for LGBT Americans – is working to communicate and influence both legal and social change including the recent Supreme Court's rulings on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act.
Join Fred Sainz, vice president of Communications and Marketing for the HRC and 2008 PRSA PR Professional of the Year, as he explains the importance of communications and media relations regarding those pivotal decisions and about the movement for LGBT equality in general.
Attendees will:
- Learn how the roles of communications, marketing and media relations play in HRC's work (LGBT federal advocacy and the HRC Foundation) and the issues that HRC leads for the LGBT community;
- Discover the evolution of HRC's communications and marketing team's role within HRC and how it's pivotal to the organization's success; and
- Understand how HRC's communications and marketing team works in local markets to provide important communication and marketing support for local HRC Steering Committees and on local LGBT issues.
Maggiano's-Buckhead is located at 3368 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30326.
Check-in for the seminar begins at 11:30 a.m. Details and registration link: http://bit.ly/19oWnuP .
