Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center Marks 40th Anniversary of Its Founding With Gala
WASHINGTON, Nov. 4, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This year marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, named for the legendary National Football League coach Vincent T. Lombardi. In honor of this milestone, Vincent T. Lombardi II, grandson of this beloved figure, will join friends and supporters at the annual Lombardi Gala, "Color the Cure," on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Avenue NW. Lombardi's founding director, John Potter, MD, will be honored for his leadership in establishing the cancer center.
Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, a part of Georgetown University Medical Center, is founded on the principles of teamwork, commitment and excellence, encompassing the successful philosophy of the renowned football coach.
