TIMONIUM, Md., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Dugan, Babij & Tolley, LLC is pleased to make known that George S. Tolley, III has been named Vice President of the Maryland Association of Justice.
The announcement was made at the annual MAJ President's Dinner and Installation of Officers, honoring incoming MAJ president Robert J. Zarbin, on May 22, 2010 in Baltimore, Maryland. Following his installation, Mr. Zarbin introduced the officers for the coming year, including, Dugan, Babij & Tolley partner George S. Tolley, III as Vice President.
George Tolley, III graduated magna cum laude from Williams College in 1988, and received his J.D. degree from New York University in 1991. Before entering private practice, he served as the law clerk to the Hon. Herbert F. Murray of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Mr. Tolley has litigated complex medical malpractice and personal injury cases in state and federal courts across the country. In recent years, he has focused his practice on the representation of infants who have suffered brachial plexus and related orthopedic and neurologic injuries arising from obstetrical negligence. In addition, Mr. Tolley frequently litigates cases involving issues related to delayed cancer diagnosis, emergency room malpractice, and wrongful death.
Mr. Tolley is licensed to practice law in Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina and the District of Columbia and has been specially admitted in jurisdictions across the country. He was a Governor and is now an Officer and Vice President of the Maryland Association for Justice and has served as Chair of the Association's Medical Negligence Section. In addition, he is a member of the American Association for justice and many specialty and regional bar associations.
Mr. Tolley maintains a prestigious "A/V" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, publisher of the definitive directory of America's leading lawyers, and has been included annually in Super Lawyers for the State of Maryland. Along with his partners Henry E. Dugan, Jr. and Bruce J. Babij, Mr. Tolley was acknowledged by the Maryland Association for Justice as Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2010 for his representation of a child who suffered permanent and irreversible neurological injuries as a consequence of a complete placental abruption.
Mr. Tolley has considerable experience in trial and appellate courts, and has been a featured guest speaker at continuing legal education seminars for trial lawyers.
