George Miranda Sworn in as International Vice President
Miranda Brings Years of Outstanding Service in the Union to New Position
WASHINGTON, May 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- George Miranda, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 210 and President of Joint Council 16 in New York City, N.Y. was sworn in today as Eastern Region International Vice President, Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa announced.

Miranda has been a Teamster for more than 40 years, working tirelessly and with distinction in a number of roles over the years. In addition to his elected positions, Miranda serves as the Executive Director of the Teamsters National Hispanic Caucus and chairman of the Board of Directors for the Teamsters Airline Division.
"George Miranda has dedicated his life to this union and has excelled in every position our union has asked him to take on," Hoffa said. "I know he will continue to contribute to the success of the union as Eastern Region Vice President, and I look forward to working with him far into the future."
Miranda never backed down from a challenge during his career in the Teamsters Union, previously holding such titles as assistant to the Airline Division Director, international representative for the Airline Division, personal representative for the General President and international temporary trustee.
He has also been recognized for his invaluable contributions to the union as the recipient of the Teamster Black Caucus "Man of the Year" award, Teamster Hispanic Caucus "Man of the Year" award, the "Samaritan Foundations Distinguished Humanitarian" award, and the Instituto Laboral de la Raza "Brother of the Year" award.
