Geoffrey Fieger files suit against compound pharmacy allegedly responsible for producing contaminated steroid solution.
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationally known trial attorney Geoffrey Fieger today filed a multimillion dollar federal lawsuit on behalf of a Michigan couple against New England Compounding Pharmacy, Inc. The suit alleges that the company is responsible for releasing contaminated steroid solution which is believed to be responsible for multiple deaths and outbreaks of fungal meningitis across Michigan and other states.
The suit alleges that New England Compounding Pharmacy, Inc. negligently manufactured and distributed steroid solution contaminated with mold, fungus and other contaminants. The tainted solution was later distributed and injected into Plaintiff Lyn Laperriere causing Mr. Laperriere to develop fungal meningitis and complications associated with that condition. Mr. Laperriere's spouse Penny Laperriere is also suing New England Compounding Pharmacy, Inc.
Additional clients have been retained by Fieger and more lawsuits are likely.
