Geocent Welcomes Retired Army Colonel Bill Marks to Lead its Aerospace and Defense Engineering Sector
METAIRIE, La., Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Geocent announced today retired Army Colonel William L. (Bill) Marks, II, will be taking over Patrick Scheuermann's role as vice president of its Aerospace and Defense Engineering Sector located in Geocent's Huntsville, Alabama office. He will officially join the team October 17. Scheuermann will concentrate on his position as corporate strategy officer and continue to oversee growth and development in all of Geocent's business units.
Marks retired after 27 years with the United States Army where he served in various Army executive leadership positions helping the government to diversify, partner, and transform the way it accomplished its missions at each location. At Geocent, he will continue to look for partnerships with the U.S. government and with the Redstone Arsenal. Marks will provide oversight, leadership, and strategic focus to the execution and growth of Geocent's Aerospace and Defense Engineering activities across the country and around the world.

Marks, who moved to Alabama from North Carolina during adolescence, is a graduate of the University of South Alabama with a bachelor's degree in finance. He is also a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Ranger School, Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Command and General Staff College. He recently graduated from the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base with a master's degree in strategic studies.
He joined the US Army in 1990 and served in various assignments and commands. Recently, he served as the Garrison Commander of the United States Army Garrison-Redstone Arsenal for three years. Throughout his career, Col. (Ret) Marks received numerous honors, including the Legion of Merit.
