DALLAS, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Overhead Door Corporation today announced the realignment of its business to define the Genie® brand as a separate division and has announced Mike Kridel as President of The Genie Company. This move will provide dedicated focus on the residential and commercial operator business within the organization.
Dennis Stone, President and CEO of Overhead Door Corporation, commented, "Appointing Mike Kridel to lead The Genie Company will allow for greater momentum to further strengthen our residential and commercial operator business. Mike joined the Overhead Door Corporation as part of the acquisition of Wayne-Dalton in December 2009. Previously at Wayne-Dalton, Mike was Executive Vice President of Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain and brings with him extensive door and operator experience. Prior to Wayne-Dalton, Mike held various leadership positions with the General Electric Company for 18 years."

This will further enhance service to all customers, including national builders, major retailers, architects, general contractors, homeowners, property owners, and the more than 6,000 distributors and dealers servicing Overhead Door, Wayne-Dalton and Genie brands.
"Today truly marks a new day for the Genie brand," said Mr. Stone. "This alignment of our business is consistent with the recent introduction of new product lines for Genie and the investments we have made into further expansion for the future. This is the right time for a change and I am pleased to have Mike leading the business," he added.
The Genie Company will emphasize the strength of the Genie brand with an expanding product portfolio to satisfy changing market needs as well as focus its dedicated resources in sales, marketing, customer service, and research and development to sustain future investment and growth as the market recovers.
