Geneva Commons Kicks Off the Holidays with "Light Up the Night" Event on Nov. 24

GENEVA, Ill., Nov. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The annual "Light Up the Night" tree lighting event at Geneva Commons is happening on Friday, Nov. 24, starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be free horse-drawn carriage rides, hot cocoa, Santa's arrival and special shopping promotions. This much-anticipated event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the rear courtyard between Bar Louie and Houlihan's. A schedule of this and all holiday events at Geneva Commons follows.

Property Manager Cathy Charhut says that the Light Up the Night event has really caught on within the community, with a growing number of people attending each year. "Creating fun events for the community is something we're always working on, so it's gratifying to watch the children's faces light up when Santa arrives," says Ms. Charhut. With the renovation of the Bell Tower area expected to be complete by spring 2018, she says that more family-oriented events are being planned.

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT EVENT: Friday, Nov. 24 

• Free horse-drawn carriage rides from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Santa arrival and Christmas tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.
• Santa visits from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

SANTA AT THE COMMONS: Sundays, Nov. 26, Dec. 3, 10, 17 and Saturday, Dec. 23 – Santa will stroll throughout the commons from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., and afterwards will head to the Santa Station near Learning Express Toys for indoor visits from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Parents can bring cameras for photo opportunities.

FREE HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE RIDES: Shoppers can board the 8-to-10-passenger carriage that runs continuously around the perimeter of the 437,000 square-foot lifestyle center on the following dates and times:

• Friday, Nov. 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Sundays, Nov. 26 through Dec. 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

FREE GIFT WITH PURCHASE OFFER: Starting Friday, Nov. 24, and while supplies last, shoppers can choose from two free gifts when they spend a total of $100 or more at Geneva Commons. The choices are an OrbSlimy Braini Putti redeemable at Learning Express Toys or a jewelry box redeemable at Pandora.

NEW STORES: Shoppers will find two new stores to scour for gifts at Geneva Commons this year, MAC Cosmetics and Pandora.
