Genesis Today™ Donates Ten Truckloads of Nutrient-Rich Superfruit Juices and Teas to Families Affected by Deadly Tornadoes
Superfoods Pioneer Partners with Feed The Children to Nourish the Nation, Supports Ongoing Disaster Relief Efforts Across the South and Midwest
AUSTIN, Texas and OKLAHOMA CITY, June 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis Today, superfoods pioneer and one of the nation's fastest-growing healthy food and beverage companies, today announced a donation of its nutrient-packed superfruit juices and teas valued at $286,000 to Feed The Children for the families left devastated by recent tornadoes.
As part of the company's "Nourish the Nation™" campaign, a convoy of six semi-trucks carried over 310,000 servings of Superfruit Tea™ to the temporary disaster relief shelters in Alabama, providing an all-natural source of hydration power-packed with vitamins and minerals from the world's most potent superfoods like acai, goji, mangosteen and pomegranate. Four additional truckloads containing superfruit beverages like Acai Berry Juice™, Coconut Boost™ and Superfruit Tea™ were distributed across Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.
"The Nourish the Nation campaign is about making sure that people across America are receiving proper nutrition, and that philosophy and need is never more important than in a disaster relief situation," said Dr. Lindsey Duncan, ND, CN, and the chairman, president & CEO of Genesis Today. "The victims across the South and Midwest have been absolutely devastated, and the last thing they need to worry about is whether or not they'll be able to feed their families."
"Our superfruit beverages offer victims not only something clean and safe to drink, but a healthy, nutritious option packed with vital nutrients that can support energy levels and overall wellbeing, building their reserves and immune systems as they set foot on the road to recovery," added Dr. Lindsey. "We are not donating soda or products filled with sugar but rather products that make a difference and strengthen the 60 trillion cells of the human body."
"Thanks to the great support from Genesis Today, we are able to provide assistance to families impacted by the recent storms," said Feed The Children spokesperson Tony Sellars. "With the help of our individual donors, our partners on the ground and our corporate supporters, we will continue to provide help to the storm victims as long as there is a need."
This donation is part of an ongoing campaign on www.genesistoday.com called "Nourish the Nation," in which Genesis Today will donate one serving of juice for every person who signs up on the site or on the company's Facebook page. The campaign has already donated over $500,000 this year in very healthy juice and tea to people in need. Previous recipients of product donations from Genesis Today's Nourish the Nation campaign include The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area, the Cleveland Food Bank, and Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.
