Marketing and Data Science Leads Set to Advance the Ad-Tech Platform's Continuing Success
NEW YORK, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis Media, creators of the industry's first attention platform, today announced the addition of two new seasoned executives, Yasmeen Coning as Vice President of Marketing and Dr. Souptik Datta as Director of Data Science. Collectively, the executives bring more than twenty-five years of experience to Genesis Media and have a strong track record for building market-leading technology companies. Coning and Datta are two of the latest additions to the Genesis employee roster, which will increase by 50% overall this year alone. The organization plans to add more headcount before the end of the year and has several positions open across departments.
Coning, a highly respected industry expert with fifteen years of experience in media, technology and branding, will be responsible for leading Genesis' overall marketing strategy, talent and resources. She will manage and drive all corporate and product marketing, market development and strategic communications initiatives. Prior to joining Genesis Media, she served as Head of Marketing for PlaceIQ as well as Director of Marketing for Demand Media, at the later overseeing marketing for publishing giants such as eHow.com and Cracked.com through the company's IPO. Over the course of her career, Coning has worked with global brands such as Microsoft, Starbucks, AEG, Disney, Hulu and more.
In his role, Dr. Datta will drive Genesis Media's growing data science team and their focus on attention as the most comprehensive metric for the publishers and advertisers in today's digitally connected landscape. He brings a wealth of experience in data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and knowledge management. Prior to Genesis Media, he served as Senior Research Scientist at Thomson Reuters. At the helm of his team, Dr. Datta will further deepen the platform's intelligence capabilities, while helping make its data infrastructure actionable via machine learning and data-driven insights. Dr. Datta has published a number of research papers on data mining algorithms in international conferences and journals, and has been awarded patent on data privacy.
