Genesis Gaming Solutions Granted New Patent

LAS VEGAS, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis Gaming Solutions, Inc. announced that it has been granted a new patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office that covers a card and chip detection system for its BRAVO Pit & Poker Management System that improves player tracking and table management on casino gaming tables.

US Patent # 8,130,097 is for technology that detects objects placed on a gaming table with embedded light sensors located under the table felts. These light sensors are designed to read through fabric and can detect where objects such as cards and chips are placed on top of the table felt. When cards are dealt to each betting position or chips are placed in betting spots, the sensors are covered, signaling to the system that a hand is being played at that spot. 

With this technology, exact hand count information is available to dramatically improve player rating accuracy and correctly measure operational metrics. Dealer speed and efficiency can be easily evaluated and hands per hour goals can be set and measured on all game types.  In addition, by placing a sensor under any designated betting area, casino management can better track any proposition or bonus bets on a game, enabling more accurate data for cost-benefit analysis of a particular bonus bet.

The technology also provides complete flexibility of sensor placement depending on game play, player tracking and game management requirements. Because the sensors are installed under the table felt, they are undetectable by the players. In addition, the sensors are covered for protection against spills of any kind.
