Generation Opportunity Adds Grassroots Organizing and Communications Experts to Existing National Team
WASHINGTON, May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Generation Opportunity today announced the expansion of its growing team of grassroots organizers and communications experts with the addition of three former members of Senator Rick Santorum's presidential campaign team. The organization operates on a strategy of social media and grassroots mobilization and specifically engages young adults ages 18–29.

Generation Opportunity presently has over 3.3 million fans on Facebook since its launch last year and has traveled across the country organizing young adults on college campuses, in local communities, and among young professionals. The group focuses on issues such as the lack of jobs and economic opportunity, increasing federal spending and debt, American competitiveness, education reform, and energy independence.

The new team members include:
Nick Pappas, former Deputy National Political Director, is a native of New Hampshire. Pappas will join the team as a Regional Field Director. Pappas has direct experience overseeing a national, 50-state campaign strategy and running a national political operation.
Jake Uhlenkott, former National Field Director, a native of Idaho and graduate of Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, will join the team as a Regional Field Director. Uhlenkott has direct experience running statewide political campaigns and organizing field operations in Idaho, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
David Pasch, former Staff Lead and Trip Manager, a native of New Jersey and a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, will join the team as Deputy Director of Communications. Pasch has direct experience in strategic communications, public affairs, crisis management, and traditional and new media strategies for issue advocacy.
