General William "Kip" Ward Joins SENTEL Corporation As Newest Executive
Retired Army General to Serve as Senior Adviser
ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Decorated U.S. Army General (ret.) William "Kip" Ward has joined SENTEL Corp. as a Senior Adviser. In this role, Ward will lead the company's international expansion efforts from SENTEL headquarters facility in Alexandria, VA.

Prior to joining SENTEL, Ward was an active duty four- star general and inaugural Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), the nation's newest interagency geographic command, responsible for all U.S. defense and security activities on the African continent and its island nations.

Ward brings significant experience in international operations. He was the Chief of the Office of Military Cooperation in Cairo, Egypt in 1999 and commanded NATO Forces in Bosnia in 2003. While serving as Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff of U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army in 2005, he was selected by the Secretary of State to be the U.S. Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Ward was also the Deputy Commander of U.S. European Command in 2006 and served command tours in Germany, Korea, and Somalia, as well as at Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Drum, NY, and Ft. Wainwright, AK.
A native of Baltimore, MD., Ward holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Morgan State University, and a Master's degree in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. In addition to his many key command and staff assignments, Ward was also an assistant professor of political science and public policy at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
