General Powell's Visit to World Youth Peace Summit Includes Special Session With 20 Youth
HARTFORD, Conn., June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- General Colin Powell will deliver the Keynote Address at the inaugural World Youth Peace Summit, hosted by the Institute for International Sport. General Powell's address will be delivered on Sunday, July 3 at 7:00 pm at the University of Hartford Athletic Center.
At 6:00 pm on July 3, General Powell will meet with 20 World Youth Peace Summit participants, ages 15 to 19. Each participant has been specially selected for their excellent peace proposals. The session will involve each participant presenting the key points of their proposal to General Powell, who will offer feedback.
"This is an extraordinary opportunity for 20 gifted young social entrepreneurs who are attending the World Youth Peace Summit to share their views with a true world leader," stated Dan Doyle, founder of the Summit. The Center for Social Entrepreneurship will begin work in July. The Center will cultivate and manage the thousands of peace initiatives that will spring forth from the World Youth Peace Summit.
