General Dynamics to Support U.S. Joint Forces Development Program

FAIRFAX, Va., June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a contract supporting the U. S. Joint Staff J7 (Director, Joint Force Development) to provide operational support services to the Joint Force Development program.  The multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a potential value of $876.9 million over five years to all seven awardees, if all options are exercised.

Under this contract, General Dynamics will provide continuously adaptive education, training assessments, experimentation and infrastructure for training and real-world operations that serve as the foundation of learning for joint force development. Specific tasks include concept development and planning; logistics; modeling and simulation; architecture design; model management and operations; scenario development; distributed learning and courseware development; event response and control cells and facility operations.  The company will also develop future joint training environments and test and evaluate new equipment.  Work will be performed in Suffolk, Va., and various locations worldwide.

Programs supported include the Joint Experimentation Program (JEXP), Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Core and Business Sustainment (JCD&E Core), Joint Concept Development and Experimentation Projects Support (JCD&E Projects), Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC), Joint Irregular Warfare Center (JIWC)  and Joint Systems Integration Center (JSIC).
