General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Appoints Jaeger to New Customer-facing Position
Jim Jaeger named Chief Cyber Services Strategist; Mike Buratowski will succeed Jaeger as vice president of Cybersecurity Services.
WALTHAM, Mass., Dec. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions has appointed Jim Jaeger to a new executive position – Chief Cyber Services Strategist – to help customers design, develop and deploy interoperable cybersecurity solutions that can discover, investigate and contain advanced cyber threats. Mike Buratowski will assume Jaeger's previous role as vice president of Cybersecurity Services.
"With more than a quarter century of experience in the cyber domain, Jim understands the far-reaching consequences of a breach and is a trusted source in our industry," said Peter George, president of General Dynamics Fidelis Cybersecurity Solutions. "He's an expert in cyber forensics, has in-depth knowledge of incident response and first-hand experience with the pursuit and successful prosecution of cyber criminals. He's now better positioned to help our customers respond to and stop dynamic attacks quickly and effectively."
Jaeger and his team will help customers better understand their cyber ecosystem and the baseline of what is normal on their network. Once the enterprise's steady state is established, they will work with customers to provide real-time monitoring capabilities to track activity and quickly identify threats and mitigate their impact.
Buratowski will lead a team of highly-skilled forensic specialists dedicated to helping customers prevent, contain and remediate breaches. The team reverse-engineers attacks and bakes in what analysts learn after studying malware into the Fidelis XPS appliances and network-monitoring tools. These real-time intelligence feeds and automatic updates ensure that customers have the most current and thorough protection to combat adversaries and advanced persistent threats.
"Mike's experience supporting the federal government coupled with his tenure as a police detective in the Computer Crimes Unit make him uniquely qualified to help customers build a robust cybersecurity solution that is interoperable, scalable and effective in the war against cyber adversaries," said George.
