Geneia's Growth Attracts Technology Industry Pioneer Avishek Mukherjee
HARRISBURG, Pa., July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the appointment of Mark Caron as Geneia's CEO by Gary D. St. Hilaire, President and CEO of Capital BlueCross, Geneia today announced the selection of industry pioneer Avishek (Avi) Mukherjee as the company's Chief Technology Officer. He joins an executive team comprised of Mark Caron, Chief Operating Officer Heather Lavoie, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jennifer Chambers.

For nearly 10 years, Mukherjee has excelled in numerous leadership positions in the areas of product management, clinical interoperability, mobile health, clinical analytics, and risk mitigation strategies. He has developed products and applications for provider organizations including the Mayo Clinic, the South West Medical Association, the WellMed Physician Practices, and the Lifeprint group of primary care physicians. He also brings valuable experience in strategizing solutions for UnitedHealth Group/Optum, National Health Services (UK), Aetna, HealthNet, multiple Blue plans in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, and other payers with diverse contracting models, including fee-for-service, capitation, pay-for-performance, and accountable care organizations.
Mukherjee is a graduate in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of Kalyani in India. He holds a Masters of Business Administration specializing in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. He also studied machine learning and power electronics in the Master of Applied Science program and was a Research Assistant at Concordia University, Canada.
