PITTSBURGH, Jan. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GENCO announced today that effective January 1, 2013 its board of directors appointed Herb Shear and Todd R. Peters to the positions of executive chairman and chief executive officer, respectively. Mr. Shear, who has served as the company's chairman and CEO for the past 40 years, will focus principally on the company's strategic direction and long-term business growth. In his role as CEO, Mr. Peters will lead GENCO's business initiatives, leveraging the company's recognized leadership position in product lifecycle and reverse logistics to pursue opportunities in target markets, including technology, healthcare, retail, consumer and industrial, and government.
Mr. Peters was appointed vice chairman of GENCO in October 2010, following the acquisition and take- private transaction with ATC Technology Corporation (ATC). He will continue serving in his role as vice chairman and as a member of GENCO's board of directors.
"Todd is a strong leader and has played a critical role in enhancing our competitive position," said Herb Shear, GENCO's executive chairman. "With Todd's help, we have leveraged additional opportunities with our existing and prospective customers." Mr. Shear added, "Under Todd's leadership, I am confident that GENCO will continue to grow and provide unmatched expertise, operational excellence and value to our customers."
In October 2012 the company celebrated the two-year anniversary of its merger with ATC Technology Corporation (ATC) to form GENCO ATC.
