CHICAGO, Oct. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Gemini Alternative Funds, LLC (Gemini Alt) will host a variety of experts on alternative investments at its industry event, "Gemini Forum: Behind the Scenes of Alternatives," on October 8, 2014 in New York City. The educational forum offers an opportunity for registered investment advisors (RIAs) and journalists to learn how managed account platforms help users gain unique access to alternatives through exploring liquidity, leverage and independence in the current market environment.
"Liquid alternatives are the fastest-growing instruments in the alternative investment market, making it imperative that advisors, and reporters covering this space, understand the intricacies of and differences between the various alternative strategies currently in practice," said David Young, President of Gemini Alt. "The Gemini Forum enables RIAs and journalists to learn first-hand about liquid alternative strategies, and the best ways to deliver them to investors, from some of the foremost experts in the field."
Panel discussion topics include how to define and choose a managed account platform, the benefits of using a managed account platform to obtain alternative investment exposure, and why managed futures strategies are currently attractive for investors. One of the areas of focus will explore alternative investment swaps structure, mechanics, and trade execution as they relate to managed account platforms.
Mr. Young will participate in the conference's panel discussions along with:
- Timothy Selby, Partner at Alston + Bird, who serves as head of the law firm's investment management practice.
- Esther Goodman, Co-Founder of Conyers Consulting Group, whose involvement with the alternative investment industry spans more than 30 years.
- Martin Bergin, President of Dunn Capital Management, who helps construct and manage the firm's managed futures portfolios.
- Andrew Dollery, Senior Director in the prime services group at Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Bank's SG Newedge business, who is responsible for originating and structuring new business for the firm.
The Forum will be held at the New York City offices of Alston + Bird LLP.
