GEI Consultants Hires Dr. Robert (Robin) Senner as Senior NEPA Manager in Seattle
BOSTON, Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation's leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, is pleased to announce that Robert (Robin) Senner, Ph.D., has joined the firm as a Senior Consultant in the company's Seattle office focusing on projects conducted in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Dr. Senner is an senior environmental manager who has led several dozen NEPA, SEPA, and FERC licensing projects, master plans, and permit applications. He has worked in settings ranging from remote wilderness to complex city centers, on projects encompassing urban planning and design, bridges and highways, airport improvements, port expansions, oilfield infrastructure, oil and gas pipelines, industrial-scale mines, hydroelectric and wind energy projects, and transmission lines. An accomplished writer and editor, Dr. Senner has recently developed a comprehensive and original training program in NEPA documentation for servicewide use by the U.S. Navy.
Prior to joining GEI, Dr. Senner directed teams on multiple projects in Alaska as a Principal at ARCADIS U.S., Inc. Previously, he was the Pacific Northwest Region NEPA Technical Leader and Seattle Area Environmental Operations Leader for CH2M Hill's Transportation Business Group, where he had leadership roles on the SR 519 Multimodal Access Project and the SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program for the Washington State Department of Transportation. A long-time Alaskan, he was the environmental manager of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, Principal Scientist at URS Corporation, Senior Vice President of LGL Alaska Research Associates, and for many years president of Robert Senner and Company, Inc., in Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Dr. Senner earned his Doctoral degree in Public Policy (with a concentration in Environmental Law and Economics) from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin, and his Bachelor of Arts in Intensive Biology with Honors from Yale University. As a dedicated specialist in NEPA and equivalent state-level requirements, Dr. Senner has authored or contributed to several dozen NEPA environmental impact statements and environmental assessments, along with SEPA documents, two major FERC license applications, and many master plans and permit application packages. Most recently, he was selected by the President's Council on Environmental Quality to co-author Guidance on Best Practice Principles for NEPA Environmental Assessments.
