Geffen Playhouse Names Jessica Buzzard Director Of Marketing
Experienced Executive Spent Over a Decade at Sundance Institute
LOS ANGELES, April 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Jessica Buzzard has been named Director of Marketing for the Geffen Playhouse, it was announced today by Executive Director Gil Cates, Jr., to whom she will report.
Buzzard will lead the Geffen Playhouse's marketing strategy to engage and expand its current audiences by capitalizing on the Geffen's mission to develop and support new work. She will also help promote on-going "Spotlight" productions featuring a wide variety of artists who come to the Geffen stage every season.

A creative marketing executive with over fifteen years of experience conceiving, directing and executing marketing campaigns, Buzzard comes to the Geffen following a twelve-year tenure with the Sundance Institute, most recently and for the past seven years as Director of Marketing. She joined the non-profit Institute in 2003 as Senior Editorial Manager and later as Associate Director, External Affairs before being named Marketing Director in 2009.
Prior to joining Sundance, Buzzard served as Director of Public Relations and Outreach for the Oklahoma Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain and as marketing associate with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
Geffen Playhouse has been a hub of the Los Angeles theater scene since opening its doors in 1995. Noted for its intimacy and celebrated for its world-renowned mix of classic and contemporary plays, provocative new works and second productions, the not-for-profit organization continues to present a body of work that has garnered national recognition.
