SANTA FE, N.M., June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Beginning July 1, New Mexico adult learners will see a one-third drop in fees to take the GED test. The exam will now cost $20 per test subject, or $80 for all four test subjects. Students will continue to have the flexibility to pay for one test at a time, and they'll continue to receive two free retakes.
First-time test-takers in New Mexico may also take advantage of a national program that gives a $10 discount off of their first test subject. The national program runs through July 31, and all students have to do is enter the promo code GETSTARTED10 when they schedule their first test on GED.com. Students have until July 31 to schedule their first test and until August 31 to take it.
Additionally, new students in the Albuquerque area may qualify for free GED Ready practice tests. Those interested in the practice test, or signing up for a free GED preparation program, should contact the adult education program offered through the Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). The GED Ready practice test is highly predictive of how a student will perform on the GED test, and the score report gives detailed information about what skills a student may need to work on to pass the test.
To sign up for the GED test, find a local GED preparation program in New Mexico, or access free online resources, visit www.GED.com.
To contact CNM about classes or free practice tests visit www.cnm.edu/programs-of-study/all-programs-a-z/ged/ged-preparation or call 505-224-4282.
About the GED® Test: The GED test has opened doors for over 19 million adults. The current GED test measures high school equivalency – which leads to a New Mexico High School Diploma – as well as an optional college-ready indicator called GED with Honors. The GED test remains the best measure of high school equivalency, based on the performance of graduating high school seniors in 2013.
