The event, which this year includes an optional afternoon golf outing, will bring together a diverse range of speakers and feature international math expert Jeff Ma, whose experience in Las Vegas inspired the best-selling book Bringing Down the House and hit movie 21.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. The program starts at 9:00 a.m. with remarks from Sam Henry, President and Chief Executive Officer of GDF SUEZ Energy Resources. Following that, the morning lineup of speakers includes:
- Jeff Ma, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TenXer, a San Francisco technology company that has built a personal productivity platform allowing employees to analyze their daily work habits. Ma, an MIT graduate, helps companies use mathematics and strategic planning to improve business performance and results in uncertain times.
- John Nielsen-Gammon, the Texas State Climatologist and a Texas A&M University professor, whose presentation is entitled, "What's the New Climate Normal?"
- Joel Mickey, Director of Grid Operations for ERCOT, who will provide an update on issues related to the ISO.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
"GDF SUEZ Energy Resources is committed to being a knowledge leader in our industry, and this year's seminar reinforces that focus," said Henry. "We have broadened both the scope and the subject areas, not only examining matters of importance to our customers in Texas, but also adding some fascinating topics in math and science.
