GDF SUEZ Energy Resources Names Karthik Rajan New Regional Vice President of ERCOT Sales

HOUSTON, Oct. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA, one of the largest retail electric providers in competitive retail electricity markets in the United States, today announced that Karthik Rajan has been named Regional Vice President of Sales in the ERCOT service area.

Rajan, who has been with GDF SUEZ since 2002, has worked on a broad range of projects covering North American business operations in wholesale and retail electric power, gas, liquefied natural gas, merchant assets, renewables and commodity trading. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Quantitative Services within the Strategy, Portfolio and Risk Management Group.

As Regional Vice President of Sales, Rajan will oversee the management of customer relationships in the ERCOT service area, which represents approximately 85 percent of Texas' electric load.

Prior to joining GDF SUEZ, Rajan worked in the agro-chemical industry in both the United States and India. He holds an M.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's degree in Management Studies from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, both with distinction.
