GCS, Inc. Teams Up with Lockheed Martin to Transform GSA Applications
Local Firms Win $400 Million Application Infrastructure Improvement Contract
MCLEAN, Va., July 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- McLean, VA-based professional services and solutions provider GCS, Inc., in its role as a subcontractor to Bethesda, MD-based Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), has been selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide operation, maintenance, enhancement and development services in support of its application infrastructure.
Under the CIO Applications, Maintenance, Enhancements, and Operations (CAMEO) contract, Lockheed Martin and its teammates will provide technical architecture development, security services, software development support and other services. The $400 million CAMEO contract has been awarded as a task order under the GSA Alliant contract and is available for all of GSA.

The primary objective of the task order is to transform the specialized applications required by GSA's Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) to fulfill its mission as the federal government's buyer. The Lockheed-GCS team will modernize these applications, systems and environments, which support the FAS business portfolios, while maintaining stability on critical systems.
