GCC Provides $20 Billion in Support for Bahrain and Oman
WASHINGTON, March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers concluded their meeting today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a pledge of a 10 year, $20 billion economic support package for Bahrain and Oman. Each country will receive $10 billion for economic development.
"This decision is a clear signal of the GCC's commitment to support two of its member states, Bahrain and Oman," said Saudi Ambassador to the United States Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir.
The GCC is comprised of Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
