Gaumard Shows Active Mobile Patient Simulation at I/ITSEC
Wireless Tetherless Medical Simulators Are on the Move on Land, Sea and in Air
MIAMI, Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With global threats growing and first responders facing ever more challenging scenarios in the combat theater, Gaumard® Scientific is highlighting active mobile patient simulation at I/ITSEC with Trauma HAL®, a wireless and tetherless patient simulator that can be easily moved on land, sea and in air as it is diagnosed and treated with real monitoring and resuscitation equipment.
Trauma HAL is in the spotlight from today through December 2nd in booth 761 at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
As responders rush Trauma HAL through the continuum of care from the battlefield to transport and to the battlefield hospital, an instructor uses a wireless tablet to guide the simulation from as far away as 900 feet and to activate scenarios involving the treatment of bleeding limbs, axilla and groin wounds, CPR, ECC and much more.
Trauma HAL's arteries bleed as a function of the blood pressure and heart rate specified on the wireless tablet. Sensors in the manikin's arms and legs respond to applied pressure and stop the bleeding when a tourniquet is correctly applied.
"We've adapted simulation technology to meet the changing demands facing our military as they deal with increasingly sophisticated terrorist attacks and evolving battlefield scenarios," John Eggert, Gaumard's executive vice president, said. "Trauma HAL represents the state of the art – a wireless, tetherless simulator that is easy and intuitive to use in any location and that is tough and durable enough to operate in both hot and cold conditions and to even undergo decontamination."
At I/ITSEC, Gaumard also is demonstrating other members of its high-fidelity simulator family as well as realistic casualty and trauma wound kits.
