Gaumard® Scientific to Feature Comprehensive Line-Up of Innovative Patient Simulators for Health Care Education at IMSH
Fully Tetherless Victoria™ and HAL® Products on Display Enable Educators to Use Actual Medical Equipment in Real World Training Scenarios
MIAMI, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gaumard Scientific Company today unveiled its comprehensive line-up of innovative patient simulators that will be featured at the International Meeting for Simulation in Health Care (IMSH). The meeting is set for Jan. 10-14, 2015, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Gaumard's large-scale product display will be located at booth No. 513.
Victoria, Gaumard's most technologically advanced member of the NOELLE® family of maternal and neonatal care simulators, will be in the spotlight at IMSH. Launched in the summer of 2014, Victoria is used today by nursing schools, medical schools and teaching hospitals. The simulator has a patented, precision life-like delivery and birthing mechanism that births a life-like, full-term baby with sophisticated monitoring capabilities. Gaumard's complete Victoria system includes comprehensive clinical scenarios, including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage. With articulating endoskeletons and silky smooth elastomeric skin, Victoria is the most realistic, fully tetherless and wireless maternal/fetal simulator for use in actual point of care training.
Gaumard will also showcase two simulators from its pre-hospital care portfolio of products used worldwide for training in emergency medicine: the Trauma HAL S3040.100 and HAL S3201 simulators. A rugged and resilient trauma simulator for use involving care delivered on the battlefield, Trauma HAL has toughness and durability that was proven by independent testing in hot and cold conditions, in wet and dry environments and in both fixed winged aircraft and military helicopters. HAL is splash proof, fits in a NATO litter and can be covered with a blanket without overheating.
The HAL S3201 is the first and only patient simulator that can be used for full lung compliance while educators work with their own equipment. HAL sets a global standard for medical simulation with its tetherless technology that enables the communications, compressor and power supply to be inside, eliminating external tubes, wires and compressors. HAL operates continuously during transport, and training can occur in the working environment.
Other products Gaumard will demonstrate at IMSH include:
- NOELLE S574.100 birthing simulator
- SUSIE® S2000 patient simulator
- Pediatric HAL S3005 5-year-old patient simulator
- Premie HAL S3009 30-week-old patient simulator
John Eggert, Gaumard's executive vice president, said: "In addition to our high fidelity patient simulators that reflect our commitment to innovation in simulation technology, we will have several widely used Gaumard products such as our CPR+D Trainer S315.500 and SMASH Advanced Patient Training Arm S402.100 on display. The Gaumard line-up at IMSH encompasses our broad product portfolio that enables us to help health care educators meet all of their simulation training needs. Our focus is on designing simulators based on user input to provide the most realistic, functional training experiences. We look forward to the opportunity to meet with new and current customers at IMSH."
